You know, Iâve come to feel sorry for GodâŠThere he was all alone in the UniverseâŠ.He must have been so lonelyâŠImagine being the only thing anywhere?âŠHow lonely do you have to be to make us? I bet we are pretty entertaining, thoughâŠ.The twentieth century was hilarious..But, anyway, how did God end up just sittinâ around being lonely in the first place?..
- He barred Himself from directing by giving man free will.-A fairly profound thought, except that, even with free will, we are still limited by what our natures allow. Which may be why we are good at destroying and not so good at rehabilitatingâŠ
N.G. â youâve got it wrong side up. If your car stops running because you put no fuel in, thatâs not a punishment to you. Itâs cause and effect of the way the car is made. And yeah, you can say there are ârulesâ, which is why there is matter. As torture, no, youâve got that wrong, too. But thatâs another discussion.
Which is as helpful as having babies raise babies and as edifying as studying your own navel. Those quotes may be from âChristianâ philosophers, but they are most surely not from Christ. Iâll take his word.
The first reality showâŠâŠbeats out âSurvivorâ unlike the TV version NO ONE gets out aliveâŠ..so enjoy it while you canâŠ.but I canât help thinkingâŠnext seasonâŠ..during sweeps week could they throw in a cure for cancer and DiabetesâŠ.just to screw with the Nelson Ratings?
-By âfree willâ you mean the freedom of a rat in a maze-This is too limited a view of a very complex situationâŠthe fact that some of us are able to invent things that have never existed before shows that more choices exist than the majority of us can intuitâŠ
I agree that what we call rules or laws of Nature are, as you say, the basic parameters of function (I assume youâre talking about the laws of physics, for instance??) I can see no exceptions, just a âlawâ we hadnât seen before (âlawâ as in âlaw of gravityâ etc.) Not sure what my analogy had to do with free will; it was simply intended to highlight the difference between punishment and cause-and-effect. But as to there being no intelligence behind them, surely you know how many excellent minds (among which I surely do not count myself) who disagree with you, as do I, and state that the elegance of operation of the universe is unequivocal testimony to an Intelligence? If I understand your use of the word mythos, I do look at reality through the Christian âmythosâ, while understanding its place in todayâs world.

So many world ending catastrophies to choose from⊠No wonder weâre still here; God canât decide which would be most ironic or hillarious.

Well, there are some catchy lines, but the plot as a whole is just unbelievable. Some scriptwriters with a better grip on reality are needed.
