Maybe if Marigold said, “behold my marvelousness”, maybe that’ll get Phoebe’s mother going. Just sayin’.

Um… Why does Mrs. Howell’s painting of an apple look more like a green pepper?

Maybe both. I know what y’all’s problem is, none of ya appreciate apples. Its like I was saying to Big Mac the other day, apples make just about any thing better even paintings. Aint that right Big Mac?

Apples are for eating, not beholding. An apple uneaten is a rotten apple. Just ask my horse.

I wonder if this will end in a story arc where Marigold goes into an epic quest for her lost splendor.

It looks more like a pepper or some sort of squash than an apple.

Splendor in Art can go very, very wrong. Consider Lanziger’s monumental canvas of Hitler as a knight in shining armor.

Beauty is beholden in the apple of the eye of the beholder..It’ll take a centaur to unmix that metaphor. Not a bad idea to have one adjudicating the ‘’what is art’’ question.
