Calvin, there are days that you just can’t win…even Hobbes saw the robin before you did…without all the fanfare! But, it was funny to watch you get all wound up about Spring ;)
I live in Massachusets which has had the coldest winter for some time, and I`ve been seeing robins all winter, in fact I`ve seen them every winter for years.
My son did something similar many years ago. He was so excited I gave him $1 prize, made his favorite dinner, and celebrated with the family. The little guy was a hero for the day. Now, at age 25, he still talks about this every spring when we spot robins together.
I saw robins poking around my back yard about a week ago, but I had a pair woodpeckers show up on my feeder long before that.Maybe we need to change our definitions of “spring”.

Maybe they should show this in high school. Kids probably couldn’t read it.

I saw my first robins of the year yesterday. I was alerted to their presence by the breeze made by my cats’ tails as they looked out the window.

When I was a kid, robins migrated, but now they winter over. You see them out in the snow.

At least you can eat the donuts. Robins would be more trouble tghan they’re worth unless you’re really,REALLY hungry!
