Did Roy āblockā himself in? Is this building representing his entire collection, or is there another fort on the way?ā¦Way to go on the color blocks.
Between Christmas and New Yearās 2012 we went into NYC for the day. Saw a few things we wanted to take in, and 13 year old David particularly wanted to see the Lego store in Rockefeller Center. Quite a sight. Kathy would never have dragged Roy out.
One of the best Christmas gifts I ever gave to my many nieces and nephews were large buckets of Legos. Even the nieces still talk about them today, many years later!
I really got into LEGOs as an adult. I am now 57 and have been collecting for a while. I have lots of star wars, LOTR, vikings, ninjas, sculptures, etc. I just LOVE them!
The mud monster (sheās 28 now) had the big Lego blocks (āDuploā?) when she was very tiny, and graduated to the standard Lego blocks as she became able to handle them.
At some point, she just sort of lost interest, but we had a lot of fun.
My grandfather taught me how to use a similar type of toy made with styrene bricks. Lego hadnāt been invented yet, or at least hadnāt made it to the US, but these were a good copy. Just somewhat fragile.
SO, Iād build little āfortsā and then use a toy cannon (it would sprling-launch a bit of quarter-inch dowel) to demolish them.
Worked pretty well until I ran out of bricksā¦.
(I had āLincoln Logsā, too, and a bottom of the barrel āErectorā set.)

Is it an American thing to say āLegosā? When I was growing up in Britain it was just Lego, or Lego blocks.

Nice work on the colouring in.BTW my parents kept all my old lego in the attic. My son has it now and seems to be enjoying it as much as I did.

They are the perfect toy. Throw them in the dish washer set to cool dry and they are ready for the next generation.

To think, it must have taken him at least 15 minutes to build it. Maybe he can talk Kathy into saving them for the ātwinsā?
