My remark isn’t funny, but several years ago a man was struck by lightening on a golf course. Because he wasn’t under a doctor’s care when he died the State had to perform an autopsy. He was low on the priority list, and his poor widow waited almost a year to get his body so she could bury him.
My father was working on the water line from the meter to our house when lightning hit the water tank up the hill from us. He was standing in a puddle of water and felt a tingle at the time, decided the work could wait until the storm passed.-Some time later he noticed his watch had stopped right at the time he felt that tingle. Since these were prehistoric times, he took his watch to the watch repairman to have it fixed.-When he went back to check on it. (Phones had been invented, but were only used for emergencies, I guess.), the repairman asked if he had been hit by lightning.-“Got a little tingle the other day. Why?”.Because every jewel in your watch had exploded and I only saw that once before when they brought me a watch they took of a man killed by lightning.-I think my Casio would survive nowadays.

This sounds almost like a George Burns/Gracie Allen routine.

I wanted to be struck by lightning, but I decided it would be more fun to be possessed by demons.

So…from this comic, I take it that talking to Earl is somehow the cure for a side-effect of being hit by lightening…?
