    Probably because the line (corner) in the middle gives the illusion that it’s two separate words.

    Exactly. What’s the word that means, not so much ‘sibling rivalry’, but ‘someone poking an animal with a stick never expecting to lose a limb one day’? I need that word to describe what goes on.

    Honestly- the humor that I intend and the humor that people take away from my strips aren’t always the same. In my mind, Toby was messing with Eddie’s head and Eddie, in his own way, thought he was outfoxing Toby by simply facing the other way. I like the ambiguity of this particular cartoon, though, so if you choose to see Toby more clueless than that- and it’s funny to you- then you’re more than welcome to it.
