Actually, Luann’s life Has changed…she’s got a boyfriend who looks like he’ll be hanging around for awhile, that’s a Big change. Also, she’s had the excitement of working with children, something I don’t think she could have imagined at her earlier age (13?!). So, Bernice, with these few examples, you are being so snarky… ;)

I wonder where she’s getting the new cassettes.

And the biggest change of them all?….

Puddles has gone the way of mni-Elvis and so many others – here one day, then disappeared, and no one in the strip ever comments on their being gone, and no one who is still around dares even mention their names again. Their disappearance is scary, indeed. Shannon has wished them into the corn field.

I also question that. There’s a bunch of legitimate software from others out there available for free, even if it’s just as recent as last years’… – I did see One Note in the “Micro Shaft” store for free, but that’s it….

“…then why not make it public domain?”^Even better!– The one obstacle I think, though, would be their desire to use the “DMCA” (or maybe just the License Agreement that they’ll say people agreed to, in obtaining the product) to try to stop people from discovering their product through certain types of “reverse engineering” (though the process in itself under certain situations has been held to be legal) and the other related goings on that M.S. may be afraid will happen, if their tech hits the “Domain”.. it’d be like feeding “hungry wolves” (from the viewpoint of the ‘empire’, that is..)

It’s not like Linux doesn’t have it’s own issues…… – Desktop, etc….

Re: Luann preparing Puddles for her move to a dorm room…I think Puddles is going to be in luck! Until Lu moves on to university, she most likely will be bunking at home (most 2-year community colleges are “commuter” colleges). Sometimes, in larger cities, a lot of 4-year colleges/universities have many students who don’t live on campus; these are also known as"commuter colleges… And, then, there are students who like to chip in and rent an apartment… ;)

About Win 3.1 being an improvement on the 5-1/4" floppy…I wrote one of my Master’s level papers on Win 3.1…for some odd reason, I never took the device out, its still in my tower! (And my paper is still on the disk). Keep saying I need to replace it with a DVD drive (I am So behind the times heheheh). I am thinking of getting another laptop (I have one, but would you believe it has Win95?!!!). Plays Civ-II and its add-ons really well…every once in a while I drag it out and mess around in Civ-II. Gosh, but that thing cost A Fortune when it was first came out =-O

How old was Puddles when Luann got him? She was 13 and is now 17, (soon 18). That’s only 4 years. Most dogs live 13 to 18 years in RL, depending on breed and health issues. I’m sure he’s around, just spending less time on Luann’s bed.

I went down to the local nursery this afternoon and bought a bush for my front yard. The bush is known as the “Lily of the Valley Bush.” It has cascading white flowers that look like long strings of Lillies of the Valley (small, white bell-shaped flowers). I’m probably going to spend most of the night dreaming of where to put it…its one of those plants one just Has to have, whether or not there’s a space for it! My tentative plan is to dig out an unproductive rose bush and plant the new bush there. I have an old yellow floribunda that never did flower properly, so that is going to go in the yard debris container, and I’m going to try that other bush to see if it will do better there. And Then I’ve been going through several Breck’s catalogs…sigh. All those flowers and trees and bushes, and I’ve just about run out of room to plant new things! =-O
