I am surprised that Verne would get something so innocuous wrong. Corn is in fact a grain, not a vegetable. Also If I remember right doesnât candy corn have a gelatin base? No vegetarian can eat jello or marshmellows. They also shouldnât eat most cheeses. Vegans of course refrain from all of it. Sorry for the long post.. My brain decided it wanted to talk.

bubbareb: A very old (even before my time) fire-making rule in Boy Scouts was that all items must be found wild, at the site. My father would always look for âwild paperâ (trash) for the tinder â and usually find it. Nowadays it is assumed.
