As a rule I don’t read “Frazz,” but today’s has a tribute to Stephan.

The World DOES recognize genius all right.

NOTHING Rat writes can be considered genius.

Why do I get the feeling that Stephan sometimes goes through the same cycle in coming up with new material?

    1) Yes, go check out Frazz today. Rat should be holding a sword to Jef Mallett’s throat.2) There is a big difference in rat from the last panel to the first. In one, he’s facing right. In the other, left….

All that’s missing are the bouts of procrastination throughout the actual writing.

Well, I haven’t actually gone through the publishing bit, but I can certainly relate to the actual writing. And I’ve never understood it ether, there is so much material out there for great stories, and I enjoy writing, and yet I must force myself to it. I guess sloth is just ingrained in me.

    @ Rod Gonzalez,

An important note is that genius’s like (Socrates,Galileo,Aquinas, etc) are often only recognized long after their deaths.

Actually, I go through a lot of the same thing at MY job as a legal assistant. I’ll procrastinate and work up the motivation to get in gear, then I’ll write something, then I’ll give it to my boss to review, she’ll hate it, and she’ll make me write it all over again. I’ll go back to my desk, procrastinate, work up the motivation, etc. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Today’s strip struck at the very marrow of my soul, so to speak. I don’t even sit at the computer (or music) keyboard, because first I have to (fill in thing I have to do). Then I can procrastinate, etc.

The world has little use for genius. Mediocrity that caters to the established culture for the lowest price possible: that’s what sells. I just wish my favorite scotch wasn’t so darn expensive.

whenever I have to do a project of some sort, I always get it done (or most of it done) in a single go, rather than work bit by bit day after day.
