4 plates of salad, 3 servings of Turkey, Meatloaf, sirloin tips, and fried chicken, 2 helpings of spaghetti, mashed potatoes, french fries, corn on the cob (4), 2 cinnamon buns, 7 pieces of garlic bread, and a slice of pizza. Well, maybe a tiny slice of apple pie, oh and some of that fudge cake.
Yeah…….the restaurant manager is standing just behind Burl (and out of the picture) with a loaded gun and a cattle prod to make sure Burl eats his quota.
A word about something I hate to mention at all…..
Some people come to forums just to criticise the strip and/or other posters. It has nothing to do with their real opinions…. it’s about getting attention.
They push until someone will discuss them, or reply to them in any way.
Their satisfaction comes from seeing that they stirred things up.
In fact, I’ve read that a lot of them are actually awkward teenagers…. in their lonely minds, it’s their only little taste of fame.
Attention is the food they look for..,.Don’t give it….
If they’re rude to the artist or in general, if they violate the terms of service, FLAG them…
But don’t comment to OR about them, not even mockingly. They’ll eventually disappear.
Peggy… I know that’s what people say…. but I prefer to avoid that word, because some take such pride in wearing the label.
And for another, it leads to name-calling on both sides.
I’ve seen forums get vicious when everyone starts looking for trolls.So…. in my little world, nobody gets to be a big bad troll; everybody plays nice…and if not…. say…. do you hear anything?I don’t.
Honestly, I don’t think it should even turn into a discussion…that’s already too much attention…. so I’m done.
Burl doesn’t want anyone to know about their feed trough because they may have to share the buffet food…

I think this is another rerun, I remember this one from a year or so ago. Still, though, it’s CLASSIC Burl, and cracks me up every time I see him say stuff like this. And I agree with Pipe Tobacco — Burl eating SALAD? Must be an alternate universe! LOL! Then again, Burl mows through food like a wood chipper through downed branches, and I think he doesn’t even know what he’s shovelling in his face, so it’s POSSIBLE he’d get some salad mixed in there!
What humor do you prefer? Mary worth? What keeps pulling you in to read it and bother to comment, is it your feeling of empathy with Burl, such that there seems to be no humor as he is just like you?
Loosen up, it is for enjoyment, if you don’t care for it then don’t ruin you day, move on to other strips you find entertaining.

I’m wonderin’: WHAT did the aliens do with “real” Burl after they left this obvious facsimile before rocketing off to wherever? The REAL Burl’s answers to the three questions would obviously be: 1)No! 2)No! and 3)But of course!!
I’m sorry I left a lot of you confused, I certainly didn’t mean to infer that Burl would eat lettuce! It was late and I should have written that he took 4 plates of potato salad. Burl loves potatoes in any form and potato salad is his all-time fav. I was remiss, forgive me.

I avoid flagging unless offense is blatant. I have had a lot of spam messages lately on my Skype too, so have taken to just ignoring/denying them instead of explaining that I don’t want to correspond there with strangers.
