No doubt, Dean heard of Lio’s snowman guardian Friday, so he created a snow cerberus guardian.

DORA That’s a terrible thing to say. I have nine more years of rain, sleet, and gloom of night before retirement. My leg is already one mass of scar tissue, so I don’t fear dogs quite so much.

Dora D is right. And good riddance. The price they charge for packages is unbelievable. I won’t use it any more. I send checks for gifts now. Saturday P.O. hours have decreased to nearly nothing. Two hours in one case. One of my local P.O.s doesn’t open ‘til 9:00 A.M. during weekdays. Lines of people to the moon and only one position open. Numerous rate increases, EXTENDED holiday days off. Less and less service costs more and more. The heck with the customers. What a bunch of lazy bums. And I should keep using them? Not bloody likely. You’ve done it to yourselves, Lewreader

Arya, I agree completely! I had to return something to Amazon and I could either use the postal system or UPS. UPS was a little more expensive, but I used them. They are much quicker, but mostly it was a principle thing. Why should I contribute to the USPS when they are getting slower but STILL charging a premium price for postage?!

As for the comic, I LOVE it! I wish I could get one for MY mailbox!!

UPS is way more expensive and even more expensive for a saturday pickup/delivery. getting a letter across the country in about three days or less for less than 50 cents is something that UPS can’t match, it’s quite amazing when you think about it. Even USPS’ Priority Mail and package rates are better and as reliable as UPS. I have a small, occasional mail order business and i would be out of business if i had to use UPS

Not getting the mail in 3 days can be a good thing.

I won’t get into all the reasons behind my loathing of private couriers (UPS, FedEx, etc) but I will NOT do business with anyone who sends packages to me via those couriers. The main reason being how expensive it is for ME as a RECIPIENT to receive packages sent UPS/FedEx. Canada Post costs me nothing.

when i lived in d.c. i read a washington post article where ups and fedex wanted to opperate as tax free entities so they could keep up with usps prices. …just sayin

It’s expensive because now your public services are expected to turn a “profit.” When I was a kid, sending letters and packages was dirt cheap, but the stock market wasn’t involved then.
