OK, how is it that Lucky, who appears to bat right-handed, gets hit by a pitch on his right hip…..unless he has the most open stance since Dick McAuliffe? This would’ve have been a golden opportunity to steal the true story of John Kruk a few years back, when he took a pickoff throw right in the nads during spring training. The examining physician found evidence of testicular cancer that may have saved Kruk’s life.
In all reality, Thanks for asking about my hip Coach Kaz but a hot shower with you and your offer to rub it down then check me for testicular cancer is appreciated but not necessary. Im lucky to have such a caring coach like you says Lucky.

I am disappointed with the comments today. Nowhere in the strip does it say Lucky got hit by a pitch. P1 clearly shows that Lucky got drilled in the hip with a 2" hole saw (probably in Shop class). Lucky, to prevent that messy tear-out next time, try using masking tape where the hole saw is to enter and exit.
Knowing the utter goofiness of Rubin’s storytelling, I believe the plot will end with Lucky driving in the winning run of the playdowns by being hit by a pitch, the same way Homer won the game in that Classic SIMPSONS episode “Homer at the Bat.”
Kaz looking a little like Mickey Rourke today….and creepily thrusting his man-parts in Lucky’s face while pulling his head closer to the bulging “little Kaz”…
I’ve been examining P1 longer than any rational person should look at a comic strip. Is Lucky batting left and standing in the infield or is he batting right having been hit by a ball thrown from the dugout?

Why do I think Ol’ Lucky will contend for the Valley record for being hit by pitch this season?

Another WAP! Not sure how he got hit by a pitch, since he appears to be batting halfway up the third base line.

It’s going to be a long season for Lucky (and the Gil Thorp fans that read the strip).

Puzz! Read LngJhnAg’s whole paragraph, he explains his interpretation of “gets drilled,” it was a joke.
