No, it has to be fried egg sandwiches, with the yolks just runny enough to spread but not so runny that it all drips down your front. Perhaps with some chilli ketchup and black pepper.

They have pre-made pizza dough at the store. What he should do is buy the ingredients, (sausage, onions, green bell pepper, Italian Cheese blend, spaghetti or pizza sauce come to mind) and all 3 of them prepare and make the pizza together. The kids get what they want, and Dad saves money by cooking at home. Win / win.

The bumbling husband who can barely make toast is even less amusing than the palm tree on 7 square feet of sand when it comes to comic strip cliches.

I love the detail in the strip from the rain outside to the bag in the trash can! And I agree with Jeff that they should make homemade pizza together, or pepperoni rolls like my son makes.

These are all good foods to eat in my opinion, and perfectly normal, especially for the bachelors. I’m a big fan of Ramen Noodles myself, and have had both fried egg sandwiches and spam and mayo sandwiches in the past, both are good in their own right. Those two kids shouldn’t be so quick to judge.Though I have to agree with Jeff too; working together to make a homemade pizza seems like an even better idea in the long run.

Spam, spam, spam, bacon and spam!

Quiet Storm said she couldn’t cook at 18, and I could barely do so. Grilled cheese and tomato soup was the extent of my culinary expertise. However, I knew how to read; open a cookbook and have at it.

I want to go buy some spam right now. I prefer to fry my spam first but either way works.

Mom was a cook so all the kids learned early; she didn’t want to stare at another stove when she got home. My older brothers taught their wives how not to burn water. :-)

Enjoy! Think we had to eat Spam once during WWII and that will last me my lifetime, thank you very much. Even the thought of it is enough to make me want to barf. And thank you, JPuzzleWhiz. That’s another good reason not to eat it.

To the Ramen noodle posters, I consider that a base. Earlier today I had Ramen noodles, I added chopped cooked onion, cooked scrambled egg and green beans. Threw a couple of fish stick filets on top, mixed some soy sauce into some tarter sauce, and had a great lunch.

I am happily married with two daughters, but I seem to be the only one in the family who can use two burners of the stove at the same time.

Gag! No way!

Dad always cooked the pan fried oysters and the pan-fried ooligans (small fish from the Fraser River – think of them as a better tasting smelt). He also showed me that scrambled eggs come with more than just eggs…all the leftovers and whatever looked interesting in the fridge. .BTW – he taught me how to shuck the oysters and clean the fish besides the cooking of those two yummies.
