She was right, though. If you ask, youâre on a budget, and such places are made for people without such things. Also, itâs a pretty standard response. Sometimes even instructed by management, although theyâd probably deny it. Then show you the way out.
This is sort of the way most people get bumped on overbooked flights. The airline bumps those who paid the least for their tickets first. So if you saved money by making your reservation three months ago, you give up your seat to the guy who decided last night to book the flight.
If I were running an airline, Iâd charge a flat rate of $100 for a flight. That doesnât give you a seat, what it allows you to do is show up at the airport with 500 other people and bid on a seat. Of course only the highest bidders get on board. Losers get $25 airline vouchers for a bag of peanuts on the next flight they bid on successfully. The vouchers expire at midnight.
Donât worry a hotel critic will come in one day and get the same treatment. He or she will then write an article and destroy the hotelâs reputation putting them out of business .
Believe it or not: I had a similar experience the first time I rode AMTRACK. My family had reserved seats for our trip to Florida, but the seats were given to a group of others. It was a nightmare. We were treated like unwanted baggage the whole trip.

You could try The Hotel Mon Signor, I hear there are at least âFour Roomsâ available there⊠although room service is a little iffy.

American Airlines bump passengers for cargo. The cargo has less âflexible travel plans.â
