Overboard by Chip Dunham for April 26, 2014
Transcript:
It says here that monarchs are in danger, Nate. Their caterpillars only eat milkweed. They needed it to survive.. And because of overdevelopment, they're finding less and less of it. Well, they certainly don't like turkey subs. No, they need milkweed. If they were eating turkey subs, that would be showing true desperation and the little guys. Plant some in your garden. They'll love ya.

Good Morning Crew,Well, if you can get milk from a milkweed you better get me a couple of buckets. Is it possible to get honey from honeysuckle? One of life’s unanswered questions.Have a GREAT DAY MATIE’S

If you are going to plant milkweed go ahead a plant other butterfly friendly plants. We did and it has paid off. The only thing better than a flower garden is a flower garden filled with butterflies.

Will that sub ever resurface? Not likely.
Good morning, Crew!

I get all the volunteer milkweed I can stand. Seldom see a caterpillar on it; stuff seems obscenely healthy. Hey monarchs: free buffet in my backyard for your kiddies!

I believe the milk from milkweed is poisonous. Ya can’t judge a milk by its color.

As Laura Ingalls once said on the TV Show “Little House On The Prairie” “Butterflies make the world more beautiful.” Indeed. Thanks Chip. :-)
