“All right! I’ll go in the other room for a bit! Sheesh. A guy has a few beans with his dinner, and this is the treatment he gets. Stop being so dramatic.”
Now, mabrndt, that was a truly funny caption! Oh,not a caption, thank goodness. I was stumped to find the humor usually intended by most comments on this strip.
Enlarged image can be found at the only work, by this artist, so far, to appear in Mr. Melcher’s blog.Othello and Desdemona (links show Wikipedia pages), isn’t, as far as I can, shown online by its current-location.A slightly different coloration, enlarged image can be found here, along with a description. It currently lists it as being in a Private collection, with the 1829 date, but that may change. Or maybe it’s a later second version. The page, where I found this different coloration image, lists the date as 1825, as does the auction result, which says it’s signed and dated. The artist’s Wikipedia page (Google translated French Wikipedia page has more) and collection.
Steve Melcher, you have GOT to start making these things BIGGER. Even when I expand them they’re still only 3 inches high on my screen. I look at them with a magnifying glass.
