This reminds me of how my dad would help my mom with her ear rings. First he would hunt all over the house for his glasses. Then he would put them on and push them down his nose so he could look over them and attempt acupuncture on my mother’s ear.
I helped her once. It took about 2 seconds. She asked, “What? It’s in?”
I used to make my own black powder for use in homemade rockets. Most just fizzled, a few exploded; some actually flew.
My friend and I actually had a launch site. It was a pile of concrete rubble. We put the rocket in a hole and aimed it towards a bay. So, in spite of some explosions we were not harmed in that way. Tripping on the concrete and falling onto it – that’s another story.
It wasn’t rocket science. There was no science to it; it was all guesswork.
If I live to be 100, it would not be a miracle. Living past puberty, now that was the miracle.

I always like those “Caution, may be hot warnings.” I have a hard time remembering the last time I put something in an oven to make it cold.
