Just a thought, HOW did everyone else get around the Traffic Jam?

“…why did they not call and have someone pick them up from the bus stop…”^Possibly from a logistical standpoint, they didn’t want to take anyone too far out of the way, and where they’re at is a bit easier for someone to pick them up at. – Even if the “field” wasn’t too, too far away, it may not have been as accessible as getting to the bus station (2 miles from Pitts)…

She also looks like someone on the phone just said: “Miss DeGroot, you’ve been ‘selected’ for an audit!”….

My girl Tiff planned a great prom.

Does anyone else think they’re making way too big a deal about this?

Do hope before much longer something happens to turn this sad horror story around for Luann and her friends. This story line has so far destroyed the prom for these four…..why?..I guess we’ll have to wait till the end of this week to find out…..

NO one ate at TJ’s Cafe.

Plus, we saw that Tiffany was putting out food on the table, so there were at least snacks at the Prom. Maybe some party-goers were willing to settle for that rather than going out to dinner first. It could also have been a matter of timing. Students who went to a fancy restaurant downtown who left a bit earlier than our foursome might have made it through before the traffic got tied up, and ones who left later would have heard about it on the radio and would have taken an alternate route.

One thought has been crossing my mind during the current story arc. It reminds me of an old Archie Comic where everything is going wrong for Betty Cooper. In the next to last panel however Archie kisses her and when Betty’s mother asks how her day went Betty claimed it was her best day ever.

I can see this prom ending this way too with Quill kissing LuAnn making it feel at least to LuAnn like the night was wonderful.

The gang is looking a little dispirited at the moment—but I attribute that to the fetid miasma of a generic bus depot. Buck up, kids! Things will get better! (I hope.)

Yup. As I said. Barefoot at a bus terminal where the young guys think they have to spit everywhere.

“I can see Lu’s one busted shoe lying flat” ^Well, Lu will now think twice before telling Puddles to “heel”….. of course, that’s if Puddles learned wanted to do it….

Looks to me like the prom is over, with all the balloons falling down.

" They should have called someone as soon as Quill hurt his knee."^It could have been a matter of “too far a distance” for someone to come to them where they were, originally….. – May have been more convenient to wait until they were closer to Pitts….

“Help! We wandered away from the limo and now we are stuck in what looks like a homeless shelter and a strange man took Gunther away for awhile but Gunther won’t talk about where he went.”

I don’t know where Greg is going with this, but I fear that Lu is heading for a huge blow up…. They will arrive too late at the dance, and Tiff will try to get in her face with it. Either that, or the gang will hear about it all next week. She (Lu) will not be the most pleasant person to be around.

Hopefully, Q will take her out “privately” after his knee feels better, to calm her down. And, hopefully, Rosa and Gunth will “figure out something to do” to make up for the loss… 8-O :-PPP Anyway… I hope Brad & Toni’s wedding goes a lot smoother but, somehow, i fear not…

And. thanks all, for the kind remarks from yesterday. :) I’m still a little fried, but getting better.

Adversity is the real test of a relationship.

I don’t understand how they keep looking worse and worse!! How did Gunther’s sleeve get ripped!! Were there wild animals in that field they ha to cross??? and how did they all get crap in their hair? did they roll through the field? I get the broken high heel and the twisted knee….common, but the rest of the gang look like they’ve been bucking hay all evening!! Not waiting for a bus!

I hope she wakes up from a bad dream & has a normal PROM. Standing right next to TIFF & Luann gets called as Prom Queen w/ Quill as King.

LAME. Such a let down.

I like Bernice’s dress – the rest? I say again, call the parents, blow off the prom and rent a movie to go with the pizza delivery.

There well may be some tension there, when Luann thinks how readily Quill went along with Gunther’s plan (over her own quite vocal opposition to it) and how much fun he seemed to be having taking photos of her as she awkwardly tried to climb over the fence. The time between now and graduation could show just how strong this relationship is, or isn’t.

I also concur that it may be a bit metaphoric in re: Q & Lu’s eventual break up. It’s not looking good for them. Circle of life, I guess….

I feel bad for Gunther. He tried to salvage the worst Prom date ever. But the field bit was over the top. At worse the show get muddy unless someone slips.

This is just too sad.

One hole that I see is usually you go to Prom first over dinner. The second hole is usually dinner is served AT Prom, The third is Prom is usually at a ritzy hotel or dinner club instead of the school gym anyway.

I see this disaster as karmic retribution for Luann. She planned this thing and we spent the better part of a month watching her be insufferable. I feel bad for Gunther, Quill and Rosa. However, Rosa seems just happen to be with Gunther. I see a big blowup coming from Luann after watching Tiifany gloat over her circumstances.

Instead of going to the Prom, they should be taking Quill to a walk-in (or “limp-in”) clinic. Without prompt attention, his leg will go bad, and he will have to be destroyed.

Looks like a fun prom where you can hit balloons around.

Greg seems to be having a lot of fun drawing this arc, with all the parallel strips showing far different emotions . It also seems to be referencing Dante’s Divine Comedy. They’ve been in Hell and are now in Purgatory. Heaven coming up???

Ehhh…well, diabolous ex machina is a trope. Perhaps they’ll never make it to prom, and Bernice’s attempt to help will only get HER shut out of it too. Yank the dog’s chain is also a trope…

Well, I can see that the 2-mile-walk got deep-sixed…(I wonder how they got to the bus station?! Quill looks like he is in pain, and I notice Luann doesn’t have Any shoes on. Both Gunther and Rosa look quite forlorn… They would all be on the verge of tears if they knew how many of their classmates were having the time of their lives at prom. Whoever said that Bernice was going to come to their rescue was right as it looks like it will happen. The only bad thing about that is not everyone will fit into Bernice’s car. And, girls, Where Are Your Purses?!!! ;)

Thank you! – But as a rule, though, Weird Al has actually come out and said before, that he never accepts nor listens to songs from anyone… – One reason cited by him is that a person (who would be unscrupulous) could potentially scheme to say that W.A.Y. had a chance to “hear” their song and that he…. “stole” it….. which leads to legal fees, time, etc… he’s also said in the past that he’s had plenty of… “suggestions” from people…
