    Good morning, Slim.

Here’s a reprint of my last post from yesterday:

I watched a movie last night with an actor in a supporting role that I think would fit our guessing game pretty well. So here goes:He was born with the last name “Hipple” in 1911 in Philadelphia and died in New York in 1982.He was a character actor who also did a lot of live plays. He was in “Elmer Gantry”, “Birdman of Alcatraz” and “The Day the Earth Stood Still” as well as many television appearances, including “Rawhide”, “Alfred Hitchcock Presents”, “Perry Mason” and even “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”.

    Good luck.

Morning, Vagabonds. Jan, you’ve got me stumped. I could research it, I guess.

I remember Sky King. Haven’t seen it since way back. I do enjoy watching Sargent Preston, Roy Rogers and The Lone Ranger on TV lately. The one I’m waiting for them to revive is Wyatt Earp.

Saw a good oldie last night, “The Man in the Iron Mask” 1939.

I found a DVD of about 6 “Sky King” episodes a few years back. They brought back such memories of Saturday morning television dramas. Anyone remember “Fury” or “My Friend Flicka” (the series, not the Rodney McDowell movie). These days all you can find on Saturday mornings are cartoons, no live dramas at all.

Speaking of “Fury”, I read in Toni Helfer’s biography (she was married to Ralph Helfer, the famous animal trainer) that they found a sick, elderly horse abandoned by the side of the road once and took him to their “Africa U.S.A.” compound to nurse him. They discovered that he was highly trained (he started “performing” in his paddock all on his own). Turned out that he was the stallion that starred in “Fury”. He lived with them for several more years and she included a few photos of her riding him while he performed some of his “tricks”.

One more hint on my mystery man: He starred with Bette Davis in “All About Eve”.

Good morning Vagabonds. It’s a lovely day in the neighborhood. Not quite shorts weather, but close. Even though we are going to have wet weather this weekend, the temp is supposed to be 80.Sorry about that dkram.

Hello again..Temps now in the 50s now..My research shows that A Person of Interest has the correct answer to Jan’s question..Not every performer out there gets star status in his/her carrier, but, there are those who “guest star” on a regular basis in this that and the other series who never really make it as a house hold name..Wouldn’t I like just one of their pay checks. :-).Have a good one..ttfn

Yes, it was Hugh Marlowe. I saw him in “Birdman” the other evening, and looked him up online. I was very impressed with all of his credentials. He did a LOT!
