What I can’t stand about a laundromat is having to listen to the moms or grandmoms yell at the kids.

Yesterday, Nun’Ya Bidness was complaining about the cost of a washer. Using a laundry is like eating next years seed corn. You never catch up. With a little bargain shopping, it pays for itself in a year.

We raised four kids, and I always used the Laundromat. We could do eight loads of wash in the same amount of time it took to do one at home, and I’d leave one kids to keep an eye on the machines, and take to others next door to do the grocery shopping. Washers then were 25 to 50 cents a load, and we figured it would take us four years to pay off a new machine, by which time we’d probably need a new one.
