I can never understand the inferiority complex (so it seems to me) that evidently comes over some people when they moan that looking up at the start makes them feel “small and insignificant.” Not that I am unfamiliar with that feeling, but the stars or space in general have never triggered it. Fang is much closer to the mark; if you feel at all insecure and unworthy, there’s nothing like other people to intensify those feelings.
