Reminds me of some of my engineering classes in college and graduate school – I was the only girl there! That was fun, in a way, but I was, and am, a nerd.
What about the last thing he changed, “Looking for love” to “Looking for fun”? Classic male fear fo commitment… said the guy that’s never had a serious girlfriend.
The University of Iowa placement office could help computer programmers and accountants. I was on my own as a biochemistry BS. I did get a successful interview out of the University of Illinois Graduate School of Library and Information Science (after I realized my place in science was in distribution rather than production) and got my MS there. It was my wife’s even more successful interview two days later that had me unloading trucks and selling furniture at Sears, doing data entry for Hickory Farms, and substitute teaching until I got the job I’ve had for the last 25 years (but still hard to believe that one of my junior high math students just turned 40).
Hey, some of us guys find brains very attractive in women! (And we aren’t even zombies either!)
I think if Lila follows Boyd’s suggestions she’ll end up with a guy who considers her his lesser half. Guys who aren’t insecure have no fear of dating women who are their equal or superior. It’s the insecure ones who go for women that fit Boyd’s recommendations.

Yes, says Boyd, you females mustn’t look too nerdy and intelligent, so only a 2 year degree, there that’s much better.

Wait, Lila has a BA? What’s she doing working at a call center? And what’s her BA in?

Probably English, philosophy, or literature. Without an advanced degree, those BAs don’t usually get you very far.
