Scientists were not the first to discover this………. credit for this twisted thread idea goes to the father of fat, Chubby Checker, whose work in the 1950’s on fibres, ‘Do Not Advance’ was slowed until the invention of the electron microscope proved the threads were twisted and not in checkerboard sequence. He never received a King for his efforts.
