Connie is running out for a nooner. So it all depends on what Steve is up to.

There is no reason she can’t take the kids with her to get Steve. My mother never dropped us kids (there were four of us) on anyone else. The rare times we had a babysitter, it was because my parents were going out on a “date.”

except when we were small and my mom had to work and left us with my grandparents, my parents NEVER left us with a sitter. If we couldn’t go they didn’t go. I also don’t remember leaving my kids with a sitter, except for work, more than 3 or 4 times. We just never went out without them. Also my children don’t leave their kids with a sitter very often. Maybe once a year.

My stepdaughter used to leave the kids for an hour and disappear for the weekend.

Connie is not in this strip, yet why do Connie haters feel a need to hurl insults? What has Connie done to deserve such acerbic attitudes?

I was a single mom with TWO JOBS when my daughter was in grade school. Her friend’s mom came by with her kids and had to run “a quick errand” so she left all 3 of her kids with me. I had appointments and errands of my own to keep that day. I WAS STILL IN MY WORK UNIFORM. This lady was MARRIED and had her own support system. I barely knew her and she left ALL her kids with me for over three hours and it ran into dinner time. I missed my appointments and was not able to get the things done I absolutely needed to do that day. If it had been an hour or less I would have been cool with it. I was pissed. I did not foster a relationship with that family and explained it to my daughter why. I shouldered my own responsibilities. I was not willing to deal with someone so inconsiderate. She had no excuse when she finally did show up. My daughter is 19 now. When someone is trying to take advantage of us we smile and say “Paola’s Mom!”

I may not be up on all the ins and outs of this, but if the boy that Ellie is holding in the last panel is the one-year-old, he’s turning into a pituitary giant! According to the other panels. the taller child is wearing blue. (???) I didn’t think there were three boys?
