lost historic sites of d.c. most of them too embarrassing to make it into the history books. washingto cool disco dan 1927 gonzaga the old capitol hill water tower, torn down to make room for the supreme court. note zeppelin hovering in distance over stadium for what was then the washington honest injuns football team. giant spittoon in front of american association of spittoon manufacturers. smithson's world renowned congress of wonders the original smithsonian institution. old department of truth, culture & beauty building. disbanded and demolished. now a starbucks. johnny reb says "welcome to virginia" where the confederacy begins sign, circa 1864. possibly still extant.

The Washington Honest Injuns? That’s the nickname they should go back to. Either that or the Washington Bullets; that name isn’t being used any more.
