That really turned Nelson’s frown upside-down. Why would anybody NOT want to be a garbage man when they grow up?

Is Earl okay? He’s not being mean to Nelson. Then again, Earl doesn’t have to take it out.

Nelson will learn, soon enough, that he doesn’t want to be a garbage man.Aircraft designers at Grumman, New York, were quitting to become garbagemen-more money.Hi, hon, want to marry me?I’m a garbageman. Yup!At least you’ll have a paying union scale job, forever!!Sure beats military program reductions, just as your kids start college.

For what I pay for garbage pick-up, and how many other houses in my neighborhood have the same service, somebody is making pretty good bucks.

We just change our garbage company went for a cheaper one. Nelson you just got snowed. Because Grandpa does not want to do garbage himself.

when my grandsons were 3 they used to love trash day, they wanted to stand in the door and watch the trash guys pick up the bags and throw them in the truck, then I would find them hanging off the outside of the stair rail throwing the small pillows from the couch onto a chair, playing trash man. That was what they wanted to be at 3, now at 16 they have a totally different goal, but I love those memories.

Husband told me about a girl he once knew back in high school. Her father owned the local garbage business and they had the most beautiful house in town !

My father picked up trash. He died young and the only thing he left us was alone.

One of my nephews worked as a garbage man between college semesters. He said he really enjoyed it.

You guys sound lucky to me. It appears that you get to choose the company that picks up your garbage. Here in Sarasota, the county chooses the company, and we pay for pick-up charges in our property taxes. No choice. If you want to take your garbage to the dump, you still have to pay the cost of pick-up. It’s included in your taxes. It wasn’t always that way. This country is becoming more totalitarian every day.

The previous owner of my house was a garbage collector. He left me a basement full of the cr@p he had salvaged from people’s bins!
