In Oregon, in supported living enviorments where the residents don’t take care of their own medications they are often dispensed by the direct care staff. This includes sedatives that are given as needed, as long as it falls within the parameters of the doctor’s orders. The direct staff also contribute information that goes to the doctors to help make decisions about which medications should be given. It is not required that you be either a nurse or a CNA to dispense medications as long as there is a doctor’s order in place.
Corey - Just because you’ve got at least one humor impaired reader, doesn’t mean all of us are. I too, wish I could up someone’s meds (or get them on some) at times.
@Corey You’re not the only one. I just wonder how many of your fellow comic artists feel the same way but haven’t said anything.
Thanks for two great strips - this one and “Barkeater Lake”. (Not to slight your other work; it’s just that these two are the ones I like best of your work.)
I wish just one of you would recognize there are punchlines to these strips. Just once.
Yikes.
Whoa, I didn’t know you posted on here…Cool! Great comic.
And yeah, I think people get the punchlines…this site just lacks a forum for discussion, so the comments fill up with aimless banter forgotten in 24 hrs when the next comic with no punchline ( wink ) is posted.
Maybe GoComics just needs better ingredients, menu, staff and facilities…?
I do take prescription medications for psychiatric conditions, and I know other people who do. I find it very offensive that you would imply that is a bad thing.
I also knew people who just quit doing what was necessary to stay healthy and died prematurely. They died because they thought getting help was a weakness and because of prejudice like you have just demonstrated.
You might be a happier person if you considered talking to your doctor about the possibility that you do need medication. It is a sign of depression to put others down to feel better about yourself.
I apologize again for interrupting the strip and comments, but this is something that I feel strongly about.
Hey! The comments can be funnier than the strip and I think this strip is one of the best. Just think in 5 and 1/2 hours you all can start over. Go-go-go! Good Night.

Now, supplying alcohol is a major no-no.

I’m sorry cpandolph, no cookie for me.
I actually thought it was very funny. I’ve wanted to medicate other people to improve my mood (usually sleeping pills for others) many times.
Okay I may have actually done it.

Maybe Dusty will add horses to the Winter Olympics and improve some of the events. I could use some of those meds too!

Sorry Corey! It just looked liked one of those post streams where it would be pointless, if not dangerous, to inject perspective or common sense.

I also apologize to anyone scared to post because of my comment.
(Shoot, probably no cookies for a whole week!)

Corey, I do get the punch line and it is sad that there is a person struggles with that. Keep it up and ignore the anyone who misses the joke.
