My ex marine friend was started on her road to diagnosis about four years ago. The ball was dropped repeatedly at the VA. She was finally found to have MS about a year ago…still not being treated. Gives new meaning to the word “wait”.

“And this could not happen to Obamacare? or Single payer?”

Sure it could. Also happens in our previous system: “the best healthcare system in the world”.

Any system can be corrupted, regardless of what field it’s in. To deny consideration of any system simply because it has the capacity to be abused and corrupted would result in nothing ever being attempted.

My closest VA clinic and domecillary is short three psychiatrists, and more doctors, can’t fill the openings. They’re also treating 17,000 vets, and the staff is adequate for about half that, the stinginess of Congress in providing true funding to keep up with the need, going back to GHW Bush, not just “W”, shows clear record of Republican abuse by neglect. (some actions more overt than covert btw)

I am surprised that many of our youth are still volunteering for military service.
