55 degrees at 2:00 a.m. today. No way the lake is even close to warm enough yet for skipping the wetsuit.

insanity is watching the fault of the stars or reading the book, and expecting the ending will change. that you won’t cry(bawl your eyes out) every time.

Lake Superior as of last week was declared ice free, which in spite of being ice free, are still damn cold!

That’s actually a nice depiction of shivering without motion lines.

The Pacific is 63f at the pier. Probably as warm as it will get here, the features on the bottom force the deep water up on the beach here, so it’s always pretty cool.

It was a COLD winter!! I read a report tonight on Facebook (on a science blog (?) named Live Science) that talked about “icebergs” on Lake Superior (obviously not icebergs, but still BIG chunks of ice) reported by the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources on about 6-3-14. These ice blocks were 10-12 feet high above the water line….40 feet long..and 20 feet wide (with seagulls perching on them) :) The surface water temp at that location (off the coast on Northern WI) that day was 34 degrees F. Maybe the lake is “ice free” as of 2 days ago, as reported above…………but that’s a BIG chunk of ice to be there in June, by anyone’s standards. I can relate to Frazz’s shivers.
