My response was:
Dypak, you are making fun of the “OFFICIAL US Army Insignia” that is on the Specialist 4 E-4 arm patch?
If you wore an Army Service Cap with your dress uniform, you wore the “squawking chicken,” too.

Joe, I wore that uniform for nearly 25 years. And my uniform still fits. If you’ve never heard the Specialist rank called a squawking chicken you probably weren’t one in the last three or four decades. Usually it refers to some Spc. who never knows when to keep his mouth shut.
The Navy wears the same Eagle on their enlisted ranks. I’ve even heard them refer to it as a squawking chicken. Or sometimes even a buzzard.
