She doesn’t have to shop there and shouldn’t, What the heck could she possibly buy? Earrings? She hasn’t seen sizes 3 to 7 since she was age 3 . (actually Joy wore a size 7 when she was 3)She just wants people to think she shops there. Yeah put your “Big Gal Bras” in a Missy Petite bag. Totally fool ’em.
Right…. She walks in, knowing full well that nothing in the store would ever fit her…
And rummages for half an hour to find a plastic Christmas bracelet still in the clearance basket in June… 95% off.
Victory! (However short-lived…) The ONLY reason she’s there is to score a large shopping bag to parade around the mall with…. advertising that she must wear petites.
And of course it’ll hide her candy shop bags and the ones from Lane Bryant, Big Gal Bras, and Mimi’s Muumuus.
She must think ‘Size 3 to Size 7’ means ‘Size XXX to Size XXXXXXX’. Guess she didn’t bother to read the ‘fine print’ at the bottom where it says that just ain’t so! Then again 2old and Susan probably have it right that all she wanted was a bag with the ‘petite’ logo. The only one she’s fooling is herself.
They should go to the shoe store and get a pair of shoes, toss the box, wear the shoes, then they’ll have room for their other junk they just bought. I think all the merchants at the mall know them and regret it. Some welcome them because they spend a dollar or 2.
When I was in college, I worked Christmas for a now-defunct high end department store, and we encouraged customers to put everything in our bags. It was (nearly) free adverts for us.
@Dani, that business plan did not work for them if they’re now gone. Sometimes I wonder how any stores stay in business with so many folks like the Pennys.
At first glance, I figured Joy had bought that 35 cent bracelet.
Sometimes a pretty container is nice to reuse (like those from the Tiffany baby rattle I bought for my kids). I figured the sterling was practical and long wearing (can be crushed, tho’).
I remember when an expensive store urged customers to combine purchases from other stores into one of their larger bags. I thought it was clever as I had only purchased a pair earrings at a very good sale price. Also fun.

If I saw Joy with a big bag from THAT brand, I would assume that she was shopping for a gift for someone—- NOT that it was hers!
