I have to laugh at this one because I pulled the same thing in an antique mall to get a huge insulator from a high-voltage transmission line. They had it labeled “ceramic object.”
Way back, and I mean waaay back, two ladies working in an antique shop handed me an object and asked me, quite seriously, if I could figure out what is was. It was made of aluminum, two square frames about 6 inches to a side, joined by a handle. The lower frame had another piece I__I thus (I hope that comes out the way I typed it) fastened to it. After holding it this way and that, I finally told them I thought it was a holder for a half gallon carton of milk. Once you knew, it was obvious, and they both laughed about “being blind and dumb”, and offered me a $5 discount on anything I bought. I asked if they wanted to part with the “holder” but they decided to hang on to it.
