I would like to post a response from Bill, but I am prevented from using that kind of language in this forum.

Normally I’d say that Bill must be doing something right if the Penny’s don’t approve. But that color would warrant a visit from my home owners association, as well.

Bill’s house is more the color of the DC Watermelon house near Logan Circle.

Tried, but failed to find a photo I could upload.

If I lived next door to the Penny’s the color I’d paint my house on the side facing them would be even worse not to mention my thoughts/comments regarding them!

I don’t know why the Pennys are so upset. That colour which Bill chose for his house goes perfectly with the pink flamingos the Pennys have stuck on their own lawn. >snerk!<

Gosh… it’s not the color of the watermelon house, it’s just a light pink.

When I was a kid in the Midwest, ie, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, I never realised it was the Scandinavian background of many early immigrants that had led to all sorts of pastel painted houses… butter yellow, pale blue, light pink…

When I moved to California, during college, it looked so different… more sophisticated maybe…all the houses were off-white, cream, or earth tones…but a little drab… it looks right to me now, but sometimes I kinda miss those fairy story colors.

They were once the American dream, you know….

And on top of all that….it’s a daily…the syndicate colorist probably randomly picked the color anyway!

What color is your house Crabb?? HOA’s are a joke around here, can’t do this can’t do that, don’t fly the flag or let the kids play in the streets. Oh but don’t forget to pay the monthly fees to keep the neighbor hood clean.. I’m so glad I don’t have to put up with that mess..

I don’t think the Penny’s neighborhood has an HOA I can’t see them paying someone to be nosy when they can do it for free.

And I don’t care what you like or don’t like. Neither of you have taste IQ or wisdom. Now go back in your house watch a stupid fake reality show and chow down on two buckets of KFC like you usually do. leave me alone

And Bill cares because?? Go away!

Someone in my town has a car that’s painted like a watermelon. It actually looks pretty cool!

Is that their next door neighbor? If it was me next door to the Penny’s, they wouldn’t have to worry about what color I painted the house. It would be the arrow pointing to their house and the two-foot tall letters: FREE DONUTS 24/7.

What crappy thing? The cartoon? You can edit your choices, you know. Susan’s pink Victorian? I LOVE it. Painting it would be a lifetime job, but I do like it.

My house is pink (not the watermelon or candy pink of those, but the pinkest color that naturally occurred in the flagstone of the patios. I also prefer the gravel of that color, but actually have a mix.

If I were Bill, I’d paint the wall facing the Pennys a “special” brown.

I took mine from the Google Street view too. And when I lived back where it still snowed, I was in a neighborhood as ellisaana describes (even this one cooperates in a similar manner and without HOA). The only difference where I’m moving is that each house has to have at least one owner over 55 (as I’m 76, no prob) and it gives me access with a small fee to many hobby clubs. The houses are all single story and even the same SQFT will be a good bit cheaper in price so I can afford to add a full solar system to supply my electrical needs. I have thought it all through and can hardly wait for this change. My darling has a procedure on Monday that most find very unpleasant so we will have a blander than usual meal tomorrow (no fiber) and I made him some colorless hard candies to use during his prep. I just finished making those.
