How many men reinvented themselves without the criticism? Lots of women like to keep same name as their kids. Cute essay. This is how kids have to sell themselves these days, it is not so much about grades, which is weird.
@BobFrom the time he introduced Boopsie, GT has shown multiple sides to her personality. She stood up to BD when she worked for the McGovern campaign in 72:- http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/1972/10/27-but they reconciled, their love was stronger than any political differences.-http://www.gocomics.com/doonesbury/1972/11/08
The writing in the third and fourth panels remind me of Trudeau’s parody of “The Bridges of Madison County.” The disadvantaged kids and Twitter? Pure Boopsie!
This could be a case of the parent getting over-excited and over involved without the kid actually desiring it. Mybe she’s just humoring Boopsie and will rewrite entirely later. I know that this does in fact happen sometimes.
In any war, the casualties are not limited to the dead and wounded. In fact, we never know all the losses incurred because, we never know what the dead, wounded or distracted might have done. Let us say a number of researchers on HIV are shot out of the air, we never know if they might have found a cure for it and hundreds of other viruses along the way.We certainly never know what the children might have done. And someone tends to blame the Military/Industrial Complex for the decisions of those who decide to make war.Even if the MIC was not involved.
hee..everybody ended up talking about child rearing and james garner..i’ve heard it posited (mighta been jim bouton) that professional athletes spell the hard words right because they look those ones up..which doesn’t explain epifany…

Night-Guant49 – It’s a comic strip, not a recommendation for how to get one’s college esssay written.

Hey, she got “prosthetic” right. That’s a difficult word too. And it’s a mark of how much Boopsie has matured over the years.

I’d want Boopsie as a mom than Joanie Redfern. At least Boopsie never left her kid behind while she reinvented herself.

Maybe college app essays should have a 140 character limit.

Yep too many helicopter parents do everything for their kids then when the kids get to college they’re helpless.

I expect Boopsie’s had to write the word ‘prosthetic’ a number of times for various reasons by now since the day it became a part of her life.

That’s something to contemplate, George! Just made me think of what if the creator of Sorkh Razil had helped her?

LWP: yes, I saw James Garner died too, very sad. I remember The Rockford Files. Always fun to watch Rockfish.
