    People just met randomly back then, you played games outside and the only resources for information were at your local library. A much simpler time.

    @Ellis97- Absolutely. Today, technology although good and convient for the most part, a lot of this social media has inadvertantly put “social distance” in many of us. Although on the flip side, social media platforms such as Facebook when it’s used correctly, enables us to form friendships with people who we normally would never have met. I don’t particular care though, for the others like Instagram and Tic Tok.

    About meeting people randomly nowadays, it is done through those neighborhood meetup sites for common interests…and those sites are advertized on social media.

    I did notice a few years back that people are not as open to talk to strangers, as they used to, when walking a dog, or when standing in line, or when sitting beside each other in the movies, or at a fitness club.. but they will type all kinds of personal details to all and sundry on a site.
