It is starting to feel like the future as portrayed in the movie Idiocracy has come to pass early.

We’ll know for sure in 2012 if she ends up as president.

Pity the word “dumb” it used to mean mute or silent. Today, common usage has shifted that meaning to mean stupid or worse. A dumb or mute person may prefer silence, I certainly prefer silence. Quiet time allows us to think before uttering something stupid.

The right just loves being lied to. I.E. Lower taxes, longer lines at the DMV.

The left gets compromises, i.e. instead of single payers we’ll make it mandatory to buy private insurance. You’re still getting insurance, right?

I’m not sure where all this criticism of Obama and a teleprompter came from. Bush used one. I believe the Right can’t handle someone who speaks as well as Obama can and not believe it is somehow phony. Look at the speakers they are used to. Bush, even with a teleprompter, couldn’t help but fumble his way through a speech.

“…she speaks freely, extemporaneously, off the cuff, for a LONG time–speaking from the heart as opposed to playing carefully crafted mind-manipulation games on the moronic masses like Osama does.”

Oh really? Is that what Palin is doing? I am not interested in her “speaking from the heart”. To me, that is a sign of irrationality in leadership. Is calling for an attack on Iran an example of “speaking from the heart”? There’s a real bright idea!

I want a President who has a brain and can use it. Is anyone actually listening to what she is (not)saying? Everyday, this country seems to become more dumb and proud of it!

Poor scottfreitas, so separated from reality. Anyone can give a speech. Especially when they’re paid $100,000 to speak. But she can’t handle Q&A. Here she is trashing Obama for using a teleprompter, and her “core values” are written on her hand so that she can actually handle a question. Obama, meanwhile, took out 140 Republicans without that beloved teleprompter you claim he needs.

One can think on their feet, one cannot. The one who can is the smart one, and it certainly isn’t Palin. This is a fact. Back in your closet, scott, this is “reality.” You keep thinking we’re all fools while you sit there and defend the greatest fool of them all. Who is the bigger fool, the fool or the fool who follows the fool?

A certain segment of the US population seems to resent intelligence. Other kinds of excellence are okay – athletic excellence in particular. But for some reason smart people make them go nuts.

Intelligence, however, is not enough in a political leader. Bill Clinton was (is) smart, but he’s foolish. Nixon was smart, but he had some serious character flaws – such as an insufficient sense of honesty. On the other hand, FDR was no genius, but he had great character, and he could recognize intelligence in other people and draw on their abilities.

    “Bush with Boobs” … priceless.

By the way how many others noted that Palin was turning pages on the lecturn as she talked. She pays thousands of dollars to speechwriters to speak from the heart? Come on Scottie acknowledge reality, prepared speeches are the norm for speaking engagements.

Palin uses pages of notes in her speeches, a lot of people don’t like prompters and prefer written notes. That isn’t the problem. The problem is that neither “W” nor Palin can maintain an intelligent conversation when confronted with real questions, or conversation.

Speechwriters work for all our recent past presidents. That also is not a big deal, except it IS somewhat important for the President to at least know what the writers are talking about. Palin absolutely does NOT, and her “ghostwhiner” put together her book- which Palin herself apparently has purchased the most copies of- vanity press becomes insanity press??

As to narcissism- Palin personifies it.

Liberal is defined as being logical and accepting new ideas, perceptions, etc. Intelligence is required to read and accept, or reject, new concepts and ideas.

Blind devotion to dogma does NOT require intelligence, and THAT is the problem in America today.

Scott you seem frightened…I’m curious–have you ever traveled to the Middle East? You prattle on so in regard to all things testament…methinks you would benefit greatly from trekking about the region where the good book got it’s start. The land of milk and honey does a soul well. Dwell upon Christ’s Q&A session with Peter during the Great Commission, Scott. What did Christ command Peter to do? So– do you love Christ, Scott? If so,do you feed His sheep by not calling Obama by his given name?

“I’ve explained why I call the guy in the White House “Osama” before. It is pure political satire.”

Like that political satire you abhor every time someone on the left criticizes Palin, even without comparing her to one of the most infamous terrorists of our age. Strange that you should freely engage in one (just as when you speak of Demoncrats, or sling epithets at other leftwing pols), yet so venomously condemn the other.

I concur, dbl4’s…so much condemnation and so little “both sides now”. America can and will benefit from the wisdom of our current President and his administration if we could all tone down the vitriol fueled rhetoric and put forth a positive, integrity based problem solving effort.
