Space Cat! The Kittens are 12 weeks old today and have developed distinct personalities. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to keep them, not even one. We wanted to keep Chester, he has become a sweet gentle baby full of love and affection. Tomorrow I’m taking them and their Momma to a shelter 55 miles away in Newburgh called SCATS, where hopefully they will find forever homes. Being hand raised and with sweet dispositions I don’t think that will be a problem. We are both very sad to see them go as we have gotten VERY attached to them, and they to us, usually by their tiny claws into my legs.I’m already sad, bye sweet Chessie, you’ll always be my bitty kitty baby.My legs will heal, I’d post a picture but between my shrapnel scars and the thousand scratches, I would not to ruin anyone’s breakfast.I won’t be wearing shorts until next summer… Maybe.I’m sure Poodle and Roy will be relieved, Poodle has learned to tolerate and care for them, which has been a huge thing as she was very anti-social towards other cats. She has learned to play and be frisky and act like a regular cat for once.
A Dream4U – have you had the mama kitty fixed? Hand raised kittens are the best – I hope they get adopted quickly. Our little shelter is full again. We were doing so well but in the last 2 months so many un-fixed cats were turned in. And pregnant kitties, and babies…people here just do NOT get it and it drives us crazy At one point, we had 28 kittens out in foster homes. Susan traps most nights and gets them to the vet or Best Friends. She has calls every single day about kitties.
2Old – love your pictures this morning, especially the first one.
Everything in Texas went and was better than expected. I am tired and have a bunch of stuff that needs to be asap. When I have caught up a bit, I will post about the trip at the memorial site Beviek, StelBel and Susan set up. In the meantime, here are some funnies for today.
Ruth, glad to hear everything went well at the memorial. Love all the pics today. Woke up this morning to Yum-Yum conversing with a squirrel through the window screen.
ORMouseworks, read your post yesterday. I can’t speak for everybody, but I welcome you to the strip. I met with a fantastic welcome when I started posting several months ago. Linda extended her friendship and I am more than willing to pass it on.
Hi Rick Daly,T-Lexi posted this a few months ago, it will help… I’ve made this into a PDF,hopefully it will come through OK.
And, from 2-Old, some descriptions:Here is a list with their color, so you can identify them:Chesney – OrangeJack – Black and WhiteRoute Nine – Brown Tabby (he was found on Rt 9)Mr. Hollingsworth – Gray TabbyOliver – Gray (the baby)Jellybean – YellowThis-Side-Up – Brown Tiger (found in a crate)Lily – Snow White (and she thinks so too)Blue Bell – Russian BlueWoof – Black
This is a really neat comic! I’ve had several kitties during my life. Five were special to me: Patches (“Simp”), a Calico, Frisky (Patches’s brother…a Grey and white kitten. He was mostly grey with a white chest…he was a really sweet kitten. Someone shot him with a BB-gun…I cried for days), Cochise (“Cheeser”), Charlotte (had five kittens, two of which I was able to keep; she was the sweetest, most lovable cat I have ever had. “Sweet” just can’t convey her little personality!), Charlotte’s two girls, Ginger (“GingerPie”) and Lacey (“Lace-Face”). After they went to the Bridge, we got an Irish Setter, Katie, who is almost six years old. ( We got her almost a year after we lost our first Irish Setter, Clover). It is so hard to say good-bye to our pets… I can’t imagine how difficult it was for all of you to loose Linda… ;)

Love the looks on the pooches faces in response to trouble maker Chesney. This strip just brightens my day….and the commenters are the BEST.

How do I find out which Kitty is which? I think I know most of their names, but as for the rest?

Someone needs to put together a Ten Cats Wikipedia page.
