er Sysyphos it was Charlie brown that used to end up looking like Karma .. I think ..(checks books in bookcase) YEP and he said roughly the same thing ..
Charlie Brown wasn’t the only one to end up kiester over tea-kettle. Lucy had her own fair share of tumbles. And yeah, Karma does resemble a certain fuss-budgety young lass.
Sorry Johanan, I gotta disagree. Lucy has had many moments of pure bliss. Happiness is a warm puppy don’t forget. And there is always the sound a nickel makes when it drops into the can on her psychiatrist’s booth. I seem to recall her dancing without a care in the world many times. Myers-Briggs will just have to go and redo their code.
PS
Man, to paraphrase Terry Pratchett your name is like the word ‘banana’. Once you start spelling it you don’t know where to stop. ;)
Dypak, to me at least, Lucy’s smiles were few and far between compared to Karma’s. But far more importantly, they were drawn and characterized very differently - they connected to the world and her own psyche very differently. The same goes for Lucy’s dancing, her social relationships, her whole way of interacting with the world and with people.
Js and Ps can’t be distinguished by the kind of superficial argument you just gave. But they can’t be distinguished by frequency of smiles either, necessarily. Let me be more precise then and say that Karma’s bliss is far, far different from Lucy’s bliss in kind - as are Karma’s more negative states of mind. I’m guessing that Karma is an INFP (which is often tagged with the yin-yang symbol anyway), while Lucy was an INFJ. The personality difference goes far deeper than the one-letter difference in MBTI code might mislead some to think.
The psychology is fine; but you have to be able to work with it to make these kind of judgments. I took the time to learn how. Respectfully I ask: have you?

Oh, Ganesh! Will Karma ever learn to surf?
(BTW, in panel 3 she looks rather Lucy-ish, I think.)

If you’re going to fall, learn how to fall. That’s how they teach it in the martial arts.

You’re Karma, you can do this. Balance & flow. Be one with the wave’s Tao.

Karma must have done something to the ocean or its waves sometime in the past. Why else would it be catching up to her now?

But Lucy very seldom had the expressions of sheer bliss on her face that Karma has, let alone as often. Karma isn’t a crabby fussbudget like Lucy was.
From all the signs (pulling on the Myers-Briggs code for inspiration), Karma is a P (“go with the flow”). Lucy was a J (“must…reach…goal!”) :))
