Baldo by Hector D. Cantú and Carlos Castellanos for March 06, 2010
March 05, 2010
March 07, 2010
Transcript:
Baldo: Jessica Alba is the hottest movie star... ever. Gracie: Yeah, but where would she be without that fancy designer dress? Baldo: I don't know where she'd be... Baldo: But I'd love to be there.
I’d be way surprised if Gracie went for Antonio Banderas. He does play an awesome Zorro, though (and the voice of Puss in Boots in Shrek 2 which is interesting).
Joe: I think it is.. All humans are curious, especially boys. Didn’t you ever play “doctor” when you were little? Probably not, but the wish to see someone without clothes is practically an instinct!
I’m so out of it, I had to look up Jessica Alba to see who she is. She’s 29 but looks like she’s 18. Baldo’s response seems pretty much right on to me.
Joe: It would be fascinating to discuss the history and sociology of Christianity with you, but this is hardly the right place. :)
As a practical matter, though, “the Christian way” is whatever way Christians have put their beliefs into practice in their time and place. Sometimes it’s been deplorable, yes, but that has more to do with flawed human nature than the merits of any religion.
Jessica Alba an “older woman”? Joe, Baldo is a red-blooded teenage boy – I remember, dimly, what that was like! – and to such, what looks good looks good. I’m sure he’d be kind enough to forgive her approaching middle age…. :)
The lust is what makes the joke. Baldo’s a teenage boy, and to pretend that he doesn’t think about what teenage boys think about is to live in a fool’s paradise. This ain’t “Ozzie and Harriet”, we can talk about these things now (albeit obliquely).

“But, she’s an older woman. ”
So what? That is a contentious remark Joe, you sure do display intolerance for the way others wish to live. Is this the christian way?

I’m a Believer, too, Joe. Not a trace of doubt in my mind. But what I believe has little in common with what YOU believe.
”..didn’t he see the Fantastic Four?..”
Yeah, but he didn’t see her in it. She was INVISIBLE! (snork)

I believe talking to Joe about beautiful girls is pointless. But that’s o.k. That’s his business and I’m on his side.

Alba’s shown off to better effect in “Sin City” than in “Fantastic Four.” She’s clothed throughout, but not so’s you’d notice.
