Reminds me of the New Years I spent in South Beach. The newspapers had a front page, above the fold, article that basically said, “you are no longer in the rural area of Mexico or Cuba or whereever. Anything you shoot into the air will come down and hit something on the ground. Last New Years, 2 people were hospitalized with bullets in the top of their skulls. Do not celebrate in the city of Miami by firing into the air”.

I’m pretty sure a smart bomb isn’t smart enough to spare the good guys…..bombs are fairly impersonal

and when you are up there getting shot at from a crowd, then EVERYbody in that crowd is an enemy and therefore a target

GT is rewriting history so as to suggest that the CIA may have infiltrated the wedding parties that have actually been bombed in Afghanistan (and maybe Iraq). I realize that GT’s satire comes from an “alternative world” of darkly comic fiction, but when he uses satire to deny what really happened–historical facts–he becomes merely whimsical.

you can’t say “what really happened” because our news media is on the take. Trudeau’s satire has a truth ‘embedded’ within it that takes into account all manner of possibility to account for the incomprehensible snafus & genocidal miscalculations & tragic incompetences masquerading as a ‘just war’.
