I tried growing herbs and greens indoors hydroponically as a sideline moneymaker. Unless you grow illegal plants, there’s just no way to make it pay. There’s always some operation out there that is much bigger and can get steeper discounts on equipment, seed, fertilizer, and use of the sun in a greenhouse rather than relying on electricity.

I see his problem. He should be growing vegetables. Vegeatables must be GMO.

Arlo is making a major mistake, you should never water vegetables (especially tomatoes) or flowers over the top. This causes disease which almost certainly caused his tomatoes to contract a virus.

Maybe he should do what I would like to do. Throw the veggies away and just grow the weeds. They always thrive.

There’s half your problem, Arlo: you’re watering tomatoes from the top. Just soak ’em at ground level.

Are they “vegeatables” because he’s able to ate them?

Arlo should call the State Department of Natural Resources for advice. He may need a gardening license though…..

Ok so here is what you do. Buy vegetables and fruit from your local farmers. Buy into a farmers market if you have one. Support the local farmer.

You CAN water tomatos from the top, if you do in in the morning or have really dry air so the leaves can dry out a bit. But it’s very easy to get blossom rot and kill off the tips by watering top down in the evening. Esp if you don’t use pesticides and commercial fertilizer.
