Did I learn anything in HS? Nope. Got the math I needed in a six week cram course(Air Force 1968. 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. + 2 hours of study hall a day) before I started my electronics training. 56 weeks long, then a 6 month OJT course that I finished in 3 months. After that a minimum of 12 weeks per year in factory schools learning new equipment(a 6 week class at TI in Dallas on Integrated circuits in 1973 started the new equipment classes for the next 3 years)
βGot the math I needed in a six week cram course (Air Force 1968.β)-ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ-Tim, youβre 11 years behind me, for I taught you guys the same thing in Keesler the same thing the USArmy taught ME in New Jersey four years before THAT! Sa-looot !!
And most of all that specialized training will be obsolete in less than a decade unless the training continues forever, you will have no knowledge outside of that narrow field, and no idea of how things fit together. Any two-bit politician who can appeal to enough of those narrow interests will be in power and the rest wage-slaves.

Touche! I attended school too, but Iβd have to say that the majority of my education was outside of it (and I have a Masterβs degree).

When I think back
On all the crap I learned in high school
Itβs a wonder
I can think at all
And though my lack of education
Hasnβt hurt me none
I can read the writing on the wall
