Oh, they’re ALL a bunch of louts! Envy, sour grapes, ignorance and smarmy, snide arrogance, they’re all gonna die (soon, considering their food preferences and obesity!) and go to hell. I ALMOST said, ‘Not soon enough to suit ME!’ but then I reconsidered — if they DO die, who will we have to laugh at? Julie, you do such a good job! Thanks for all the giggles!

The body knows its natural weight, and the picture that came to mind was fat, settling. Kinda like water finding its own level. A lot of Burl’s fat is in his head tho.

Burl knows a lot about natural fat, and trans fat, and saturated fat…

The Fatkins Diet sounds like it would be the one they’re all on, all the time.

That said… I don’t put anybody down just for being fat. Whether it’s due to differences in metabolism, hormones, appetite, or even emotional health, people are not all alike… and not everybody is capable of being thin… and it doesn’t make them bad people.

But the Penny’s aren’t just fat… they’re ignorant, arrogant, miserly and selfish…but they’re funny too…. and yes, we DO need them around to make us laugh.

They also remind us of people we knew and cared about, who may have shared a few Penny traits… but we still loved them anyway.

The thought of being like Burl or Joy even gives us a little poke when we were about to have a tiny “Penny moment” of our own… cos we all do some thing they do.

I don’t like to wish anybody dead… And the Pennys are like those strange distant relations you wish would behave themselves….You know they won’t…

and you dread their arrival at the family picnic…cos they’ll say or bring or wear something totally embarrassing…but you wouldn’t kill them for it!Mostly.

2Old…. now I’m going to spend hours mulling _which_deli in Santa Rosa..One that was for sale…when was that?Where the husband behaved badly…hmmm….

Interesting tale.Too bad you didn’t do it, though.

Did you live around here then?My aunt and uncle’s deli was in the East Bay, BTW.

I do like Jerry’s smart comeback. I guess Joy and Burl’s tank gets filled when they can no longer stuff another Ding Dong in the mouth. Yea it hurts to have to sit for 20 min to digest things so you can have more.Do they even have stomachs? Or are they removed? I don’t know but those people sure can eat..

“Burl looks somewhat pear-shaped today.” Gee, Sister Retchmoria, can I run right up to the blackboard and diagram THAT interesting declarative sentence to the oooohs and aaaahs of the whole class?

Body knows its natural weight all right, and they aren’t there yet. Give them another few years to determine it. The natural weight is attained when you are too fat to get out of your chair to go to the refrigerator for more calories.

There was a recent news item about the largest ever dinosaur at 65 tonnes. Could the Pennys be living descendants?

I hate to tell you, but Joy is right about that diet. People close to me have lost a lot of weight when they cut out the carbs, but found it impossible to add carbs back and keep off the weight.

It’s not fat or silicone. They bulked up on whatever synthetic material they use for Twinkie’s cream filling.
