Enjoy the little extra money while you can, Stephen. The newspaper as a medium through which one can earn a living is dying. Their ad revenues, including that garnered through on-line editions, is now as low as it was in 1960.https://i.imgur.com/A6hfP.png

Let’s see, Des Moines rhymes with de coins, de loins, rejoins, and dezoins (related to zounds)…….surely there’s good material to work with here. Go for it Stephan (WTF way is that to spell Steven anyway?)

“Stephan”, with an A, is NOT pronounced “Steven!”

It’s pronounced “Stef’-fen,” and it’s used in various countries, including Germany. In some places it’s spelled Stefan, and often pronounced Ste-’fan.

In the case of this cartoonist, “Stephan” and “Pastis” are both Greek names, cos he’s of Greek descent.

You’re confusing it with “Stephen,” which is English, and IS pronounced like “Steven.”

Des Moines is also miles away from DC, Chicago, LA and many other “centers of culture” in the United States, which increases its attractiveness exponentially.

Hey, we’ve had you over here on the East side of the state for years and you never say anything good about us! But, when the Governor is involved, then it all changes…just like with police chases.

All this talk about Iowa and nobody remembers Cpl. Walter O’Reilly of Ottumwa. Heck, even his good buddy Capt. Benjamin Franklin Pierce (of Crabapple Cove, ME) got a mention.

Ok, you low-state types, the highest point in Florida is Britton Hill in the Panhandle at 345 feet. Florida has the lowest high point among the 50 states. Delaware, however, has the lowest mean elevation. Long before the seas get done with their rising, Good-bye, cruel world!
