âWe have met the enemy and they is us; the electorate that made it all possibleâ. Thanks for that jrbj ~ so succinct and too heart-breakingly true. Should I pin my hopes on better schools for everybody?
So what is so shocking about apathetic voters when all
the people that run for office are all the same. They donât want
to do anything for the people that put them there(except for
the ones that contributed to their election), the just want to
line their own pockets as if the exorbident salary we pay them isnât enough for doing nothing except arguing over nothing.
My big surprise is the good Senatorâs absolute honesty on this topic. Especially since he is insulting the very idiots that keep putting him back in office. For once, a politician did not tap dance around a question.
In a democratic-republic such as ours in the U.S. we have always had the government we deserve. Oh, by the Tex, this IS A CARTOON. Donât look for this to happen in real life.
Walter Mondale was the last politician I can remember telling the unvarnished truth & look what it got him? Minnesota & the District of Columbia.
The public school system was not designed to create great intellect, just competent worker bees.
âThe demand for skilled workers in the middle of the eighteenth century led Benjamin Franklin to start a new kind of secondary school. Thus, the American Academy was established in Philadelphia in 1751. â
I believe that the reason that the ones that get elected are mostly incompetent fools are because they are the puppets owned by the Unions and special interests who crush any real, honest, worthy person seeking office.
Bingo! Thatâs how he got elected. Scotch and stupidity flowed like water in the streets. His father WAS a prohibition ârum runnerâ after all. What they decide is good for you doesnât apply to the liberals who stick you with it.
Equally good examples areâŠjust about anybody elected in any declining republic at any time in history.
Fascinating how some see everybody elseâs candidates as elected by idiots, but never their own. Putting this beyond party lines, let me revise an old joke:
When the left wingâs in charge, man exploits man.
When the right wingâs in charge, itâs just the opposite.
(P.S.: Does that mean when the centerâs in charge, everybody exploits everybody?)

The Senator is absolutely correct. We have met the enemy and they is us; the electorate that made it all possible.

Not only are voters getting âstupiderâ, theyâre becoming more apatheticâŠ

To me itâs just a question of to what extent the puppets know they are being manipulated. Are they ignorant, too?
