“Don’t drink looking glass milk,” is from the Lewis Carroll story. When he wrote the stories, people had begun to learn that certain molecules (such as some amino acids) can exist in two forms that are mirror images of each other. In some cases, you can digest one form, but not the other. Hence milk on the other side of the looking glass would contain the molecules Alice couldn’t digest.
To know what things have to do with anything, you really gotta go back and re-check previous days’ Comments! Luckily, I just checked 4 days’ worth (I’ve been offline). Still, I didn’t really understand the looking glass milk reference even though I’d seen it mentioned.
I think the “CarServ app” that he so casually mentions is a great idea. Which just goes to reveal the fact that I don’t have an iPhone (or anything near it). In NYC, at least, car services are lifeblood. I’m impressed that elderpark has such an urban/urbane location …
