Oh, to sleep until you can sleep no more.

Mostly I am so tired like Mom and Dad in the evening!

That’s what happens when you are an adult with children and responsibilities…just need a book or a boring movie and here comes ZZzzzz-land! ;)

Who was it that said, “youth is wasted upon the young?”

I like getting up at 6 in the morning so it’s nice to be in bed by 11 PM vs. 2 AM.

In my younger days I would have a good laugh at this particular strip, and how true it was, thinking of my parents’ inability to stay awake thru prime time. Nowadays I just chuckle and sigh and wonder what I missed on the show I was just watching.

Hobbes brushes his hair before bed?

The beautiful part is that, when Calvin is as old as mom and dad are now, he will do exactly what they are doing now.

That’s just because somebody throws fits and causes trouble.

We almost always got our kids in bed by their bedtime. We rarely had any issues. We told them they had to be in bed, but didn’t have to go to sleep. Whatever they did though had to be quiet. They could play / read / color all they wanted as long as it was quiet.

It was a rare night when we checked in on them 15 minutes later and found them still awake.

Growing up isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

I’m pretty sure I know what mom and dad did….at least once!

6 a.m!!! Do you know how lucky you are? My cats get restless around 3 a.m. – and being generous, they want me to share in their restlessness.

When I first read C&H back in the day I related to Calvin. Now I have a 4 year old and totally relate to his parents. So funny. Best strip ever.
