Spot on – prayer has never made a difference to any outcome.

Pray without ceasing, esp. during exams!

I believe in the power of prayer, but as a teacher I know it’s kind of silly to hope and pray if you don’t put in the effort to study. God is not responsible for the consequences of laziness.

God will do his part as long as you do yours.

You’re right, cooncat. I can’t seem to recall when Linus “caught up” in age. They were in different classes at least during the Miss Othmar year. By rights, I think CB and the original gang should have been in jr high by the time Sally went to kindergarten, too. Say, did CB and Lucy ever appear in the same class? I can’t recall it if they did.

Another pearl of wisdom from good old Linus, though!

Don’t encourage him. Atheists are becoming trolls. Any opportunity to try to score a cheap zinger.

Charlie Brown just does the hoping and praying part, and skips over the studying.

It’s a comic strip, try to relax and enjoy it for what it offers.

Most of the time, but not always, Sally was in class without the other characters. Something would happen, often show-and-tell, and she’d come home and tell CB about it. The one thing Schulz was consistent about was Marcie, Peppermint Patty, and Franklin would only appear together in class apart from the other characters, because they lived “across town.”

If I were a teacher, I would make that last panel with it’s words of excellent advice, into a large poster and hang it in my classroom. I wonder if it would stay up long enough for it to get it’s message across? It’s a great line. I’ll use it on my grandkids.

His prayer should have been before the studying even, asking for help to study well, to understand the lessons and to perform as best he could. The grade does not really matter, it is the learning that would be the blessing from the Lord.
