There should be a word to differentiate between the love you feel for your spouse, and the affection you have for your children (which bloody well better NOT be the same), a word for the way you “love” ice cream, etc. The Greek word Agape means the affection you have for close friends, and I know there’s one for the your siblings and another for your parents, but he mind’s gone blank.

This differes from the love a parent has for their child, which is a sacrificial form. What David seems to be refering to is not love but lust, as in I say I love you, but what I mean is Iust after you and want to ave sex with you.
