flagmichael: They are even more efficient than spiders in controlling roaches, earwigs, silverfish, etc. I have camped in places where half the rocks has scorpions living under them, but the only time I have been stung was one in a towel in my house. No hard feelings; I was wanting to dry my hands, but it was defending against a home invasion.
About 10 – 12 years ago I saw a widow web in my garage. I knew it was a widow’s, so imagine my surprise when I found a brown spider in it. I thought it might have been an anomaly, but they soon started appearing everywhere. In an hour or so, I could probably step outside and find one in under a minute.

Here in Georgia we’ve been invaded, and overrun, by brown widow spiders.

Most of her early husband’s committed ‘suicide’ at least that’s what the investigators ruled. They coincidentally became her later husband’s.

Spider webs look so neat this time of the year in the morning sun with a splash of fog .

Uh, Verne? . . . I think you’ll find the hour glass on her belly, not her back.

What would be really cool is the hour glass showing sand flowing from one end to the other then the current husband will have an idea when his is up.

Widow webs (both black and brown) are chaotic, and easily recognised.

Earwigs are great! They make nests for their eggs and brood them like chickens!
Eagleskies Premium Member about 10 years ago
Black widow webs are also strong along with chaotic. No mistaking them.

I think all my spiders have moved out; all the webs are dust covered with uneaten flies stuck to them.

Nobody that saw Star Trek II can tolerate earwigs!
